Benjamin Valdez, a Santa Fe police deputy chief, said officers were called to Zafarano Drive and Cerrillos Road at about 2 a.m. after the man was struck.

The vehicle was going north on Cerrillos Road when the man was hit. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was not impaired, and it appeared that the collision may have been the pedestrian's fault, police said.
