Simmons College professor, husband dead after crash with tractor trailer
Just after 5 p.m. on Friday, Buynitsky and Wingham were driving on Interstate 88 in Colesville, N.Y., when they lost control of their vehicle due to icy road conditions and crashed, according to New York State Police.
A Simmons College professor died in a car crash with a commercial truck in New York. Professor Tatyana Buynitsky, a member of the Behavior Analysis program, was traveling with her husband on Friday when the driver lost control and crashed with a tractor-trailer. The 28-year-old professor was rushed to the hospital but later died. Her husband, 32-year-old Rory Wingham, was pronounced dead shortly after the collision. Buynitsky graduated from Boston University and then studied at Simmons for her master's and doctoral degrees. At the time of her death, she was teaching at the college.
