Shortly after 6 p.m. Friday, deputies received a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of a property damage accident in Silver Creek. They located the vehicle traveling eastbound on Route 5 and attempted to stop it, but the driver, identified Saturday as Jeffrey B. Thompson, 54, of Irving, failed to stop and, instead, drove into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle, sheriff’s deputies said.
