Pickup driver killed, 2 others injured, taken to hospital, after a Coach tour bus collides with a pickup on Roslyn Road, near the village of Albertson on Long Island.

One person is dead and two others injured when a Coach charter bus and a pickup truck collided on Long Island Tuesday morning. The incident happened at Roslyn Road and Heathcote Drive in Albertson around 9 a.m. The collision sent the bus careening into a tree. The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. There were only two people on the bus at the time, and it took more than an hour to remove them from the vehicle. One passengers was being treated for minor injuries, while the bus driver had to be extricated using the jaws of life. He was brought out the side of the bus and taken away on a stretcher. It appeared the bus hit the truck head on, and witnesses say the truck was speeding and swerved into oncoming traffic. It is unclear where the bus was heading at the time of the crash, and the identity of the truck's driver has not been released. Roslyn Road was closed in both directions between IU Willets Road and Robbins Drive due to the accident, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
