Fidel Vidal Diaz, 31, killed, after he is struck by two cars while trying to cross the Grand Central Parkway near La Guardia Airport in Queens.

A 31-year-old man was decapitated by oncoming traffic as he tried to cross the Grand Central Parkway near LaGuardia Airport late Friday night, authorities said. Fidel Vidal Diaz, 31, of Flushing, Queens, had crossed the eastbound lane of the busy highway and was attempting to cross the westbound lane when he was slammed by 2005 Mustang and then a 2002 Volkswagen. Diaz was killed by the impact, authorities said. Police were not sure why Diaz was crossing the dangerous highway. The drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene and were not charged, police said.
