Cruise Ship Returns to Port After 8 Year Old Boy Nearly Drowns in Pool
Local law enforcement told WABC-TV that the boy was with a group of 45 passengers from the Netherlands. He was airlifted to Staten Island University Hospital North by the NYPD’s Aviation Unit.

The ship was about 10 miles offshore from Queens, New York when the child was discovered.
Royal Caribbean said in a statement that its medical team onboard the ship had treated the boy, but required additional attention. The ship also altered its course and returned to the port in Bayonne, New Jersey.

The youngster, Prince Adepoju of Maryland, passed away on July 2 at Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze, according to a spokeswoman for Staten Island University Hospital.
