A car crash in Highland Park left four people injured and three in critical condition early Sunday, police said.
Cops said the driver of a green sedan came barreling around a sharp turn on Highland Blvd. in a marshy area of Highland Park minutes after 4 a.m. on Sunday.
The vehicle barreled into a tree after taking a sharp turn.
The speeding driver lost control and slammed into a tree near Jamaica Ave., briefly trapping everyone inside, police said.
Four people inside the vehicle were taken to area hospitals after the crash, three of them being in critical condition.
Emergency responders rushed to free the injured driver and passengers from the crumpled wreckage.

Two of the men were rushed to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. The other two victims, one a 19-year-old man, were brought to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
Investigators were determining the cause of the early morning collision.
