Eight construction workers seriously injured at decrepit Brooklyn house.

Eight workers were seriously injured in a construction accident while working on a decrepit Brooklyn building Wednesday afternoon, officials and witnesses said. The men fell from the third floor to the first floor of 1916 Prospect Place about 1 p.m., Fire Department officials said. One neighbor says he warned the workers the house was unsound before they walked in Wednesday. Some of the injured were taken to Kings County Hospital, a department spokesman said. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening. "I saw a few guys go in, and I remember telling them, 'Be careful because the building is unstable," said a person who lives next door. "Later, I saw a guy running out to get his cellphone from his car to call 911. They were working in there. I could hear." Rescuers were searching the rubble for any additional victims, officials said. Another next-door neighbor saw the injured being treated by paramedics. "A lot of men were laying on the ground," she said. "Some were bleeding. They were taken out of the building. It was bad."
