The crash closed Route 9A between Dana Road & Skyline Drive until at least 10 p.m., according to state police. A red sedan with a damaged front bumper and windshield was seen near the entrance to a Home Depot, while a severely damaged white van and motorcycle were in the intersection.

Mount Pleasant Police Chief Paul Oliva said in a news release that the motorcyclist, Giuseppe Scaccia, had just left his nearby job at Optimum and was headed south on Route 9A when he struck a Buick sedan on the passenger side as the sedan was making a turn into the access road to Home Depot.
