13 year old girl killed in pedestrian crash with hit and run driver on Gardiners Ave. in Levittown; police seek help to locate driver.

The Homicide Squad is investigating a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 12:02 AM in Levittown.

According to detectives, a 13 year old female victim was crossing Hempstead Turnpike from the south to north side at Gardiners Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle travelling eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike. The victim was transported to Nassau University Medical Center with head and body trauma and was pronounced dead by hospital staff at 4:30 AM. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and was last seen travelling eastbound Hempstead Turnpike then northbound on to the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway. The automobile is described as a 2011 to 2013 blue Town and Country minivan.
