An SUV went out of control and crashed into a store in Patchogue on Long Island Tuesday afternoon. The accident happened around 3:00 p.m. near Route 112 and Main Street. Police say a person was getting an oil change at Jiffy Lube when a man jumped into their car and drove away. A police officer saw the incident and attempted to pull the man over. The suspect did not stop and drove down Rt. 112 until he crashed into the front of Avenue Sound, according to police. A customer and the manager saw the vehicle coming and both ran out of the way. The customer was hit with flying debris and glass. She was treated at the scene. The driver was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue with non-life threatening injuries. He was arrested and charges are pending. "We hear sirens and horns honking. Then we hear a whole bunch of clanking which are these rims we have on display. And before you know it, the car was in the showroom. As soon as we saw the wheels go up in the air, all of us turned around and ran," said the store general manager.
