Marie Cox, a longtime crossing guard at P.S. 112 in Jackson Heights, was struck when a driver side swiped a parked car, causing the car to hit her at the corner of 82nd Street and 34th Avenue, according to the education employees’ union.
Marie Cox, a longtime crossing guard at P.S. 112 in Jackson Heights, was struck when a driver side swiped a parked car, causing the car to hit her at the corner of 82nd Street and 34th Avenue. She sustained a head injury and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where she is alert and in stable condition. Cox is in her mid-70s and has been a crossing guard since 2008.
