88-Year-Old Bike Rider Dies Nine Days After Hit-Run: Cops

His family said the retired security guard frequently attended weddings and family functions as the patriarch of six children, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
An 88-year-old man has died nine days after being hit by a hit-and-run driver while riding his bicycle on 131st Street near Rockaway Boulevard. The crash occurred on April 16 when a blue sedan struck Ali and then fled the scene. Ali was transported to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition with a head injury. He died Tuesday after being taken off life support. No arrests have yet been made.
