A three car accident on Tuesday morning sent 11 people to the hospital, including a baby who suffered serious injuries, the FDNY and a witness said. The cars crashed into each other at the four-way stop sign at Harold Street and Gansevoort Boulevard around 7:41 a.m., according to fire officials. Rev. Sunny Joseph, the brother of one of the drivers, said that a blue pickup truck ran the stop sign at the intersection and hit a white Infiniti and the Honda Minivan driven by his sister Suja Biju. "He suddenly came and hit her," Joseph said. "It's painful." Joseph said his sister, who lives a few houses down from the intersection on Harold Street, was taking her children Megha Biju, 14, Varsha Bije, 11, and Melvin Biju, 7, to school when her minivan was struck. He said all were hurt. Joseph said the Infiniti also had three children and the infant inside when it was struck. The infant was transported to Staten Island University Hospital North in serious but stable condition, fire officials said. They did not have ages and gender on the other victims, but said that two others were transported to SIUH with minor injuries.
