At 3:35PM, New York State Police at Wappinger responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of New Hackensack Road and Widmer Road in the Town of Wappinger. Investigation indicated that a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze 4-door sedan, operated by Beverly A. Farwell, 68, from Poughkeepsie, was traveling westbound on New Hackensack Road when she crossed the double-yellow line and entered the eastbound lane for an unknown reason. Her Chevrolet sedan sideswiped an eastbound sport-utility vehicle, operated by Yunhee Yoon, 51, from Poughkeepsie, who had attempted to take evasive action by immediately moving to her right upon seeing Farwell's vehicle in the wrong lane. Yoon's vehicle then struck a street sign and spun off New Hackensack Road before stopping. Farwell's continued traveling west in the eastbound lane where it struck a 2012 Chevrolet sport-utility vehicle head-on, which was operated by Susan E. Kelly, 44, also from Poughkeepsie. Both vehicles came to rest in the intersection. Farwell and her 5-year old grandson were transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital for head trauma. Both are currently listed in stable condition. Kelly and her 17-year old daughter, a passenger in the Chevrolet sport-utility vehicle, were also transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital. They were treated for minor injuries and released. The occupants of the Honda sport-utility vehicle were not injured in the crash.
