Two hurt in two-vehicle crash on Jewett Holmwood Road
Two people, including a man secured in a wheelchair, were injured Friday afternoon in a collision that was caused by one driver’s failure to stop at a stop sign, East Aurora Police reported.
The driver of a full-sized van had to be transported to Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight helicopter after the 12:45 p.m. accident at the intersection of Davis Road and Jewett-Holmwood Road in Aurora, police said.
Police did not release names of the drivers or passengers, but said they would be made available later.
According to police, the full-sized van was headed east on Jewett-Holmwood. That vehicle was struck by a minivan that was headed south on Davis, with a driver and two passengers.
The driver of the minivan failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the full-sized van, causing heavy damage to both vehicles. The minivan’s driver will be issued a citation for failing to obey the stop sign.
