Security cameras caught on video a crash between a Mercedes-Benz and a pickup truck outside The Post-Standard building on North Salina Street Wednesday.
The footage -- which was taken from cameras on The Post-Standard building and was edited -- shows 37-year-old Jennifer F. DeFio's 2013 Mercedes-Benz speed toward the intersection of North Salina and East Willow streets. Five were injured in the crash.
The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after DeFio was found passed out behind the wheel of her car at the intersection of East Fayette and South Salina streets.
Syracuse police said the doors were locked, but that the car was still running and in gear.
When she was awoken, DeFio was told by police to unlock the door, but she sped away northbound on South Salina Street, at times crossing into the southbound lane to pass slower traffic, police said.
DeFio now faces multiple charges.
