Brother of accident victim: 'He was my best friend'

“He was driving home from work and his friend was following behind him,” Joshua Waterman said, of his brother who delivered pizzas and cooked for Slice Pizzeria on Genesee Street. “They were going to drop his car off at home on Second Street, but they never made it past the (Memorial) Parkway … He was going to take that left by Utica Zoo, and go down the hill, but he hit black ice.” The accident occurred about 100 yards east of Master Garden Road. Waterman was driving east when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree on the north side of the road, police said.
