Authorities were called to the 500 block of Celeste Eufola Road where a car crashed into a tree.

Katherine Owen, 26, of Statesville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, Donovan White, 28, of Statesville, was critically injured and transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A second passenger, Stephen Burchette, 29, also was taken to Baptist but was in stable condition. Owen was in the passenger seat.
