2 killed in Stanly County crash, troopers say
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Stanly County.
Troopers responded Tuesday afternoon to the wreck on Ridgecrest Road near Old Mill Road.
They said two people died in the two vehicle crash. Chopper 9 flew over the scene and it appeared the vehicles hit each other head-on.

Leah Mae Kaitlyn Kirkpatrick, 24, of Locust, and Jerry Melvin Cook, 62, of Mount Pleasant, died in the 12:40 p.m. wreck, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.
