One dead, three hurt in Union County crash

Sunday morning in Union County on Rocky River Road near Old Waxhaw-Monroe Road in Monroe. The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that left one person dead and at least three others injured. Deputies say the driver of a car crossed the center line and slammed into an S-U-V traveling in the opposite direction.   A fourth passenger in the car died on the scene. Deputies say three people were thrown from the car and taken to the hospital.

Highway Patrol confirmed Tristan Thompson of Monroe was killed in a two vehicle crash on Rocky River Road, southwest of Monroe, around 2 a.m.
