The highway is closed near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. All traffic is being redirected onto Gate City Drive. Police say it is expected to remain closed until late morning or early lunchtime.

A 2006 Acura with four people inside left the road, according to police. Dabney Jo Grubbs, of Reidsville, was ejected from the vehicle and died from her injuries at the scene.

In addition to her parents, Dabney is survived by her sister, Jordan Grubbs of Reidsville; her grandparents, Sherry Ayers of Eden, Carol Ludwig of Frostproof, FL, Kennith Grubbs of Axton, VA; and her uncles, Richard Place of Clover, SC and Paul Ludwig of Payne, OH.
