Pamela Galloway Leonard killed when her SUV leaves roadway and crashes into trees.

A Rockingham County woman was killed in a crash Thursday night just a few miles from her home.

Pamela Galloway Leonard, 44, of Stoneville, died in a single-vehicle crash just before midnight on Stone Mountain Road.

Leonard was driving a Honda Passport SUV when it went off the road to the left, overturned and crashed into trees, troopers said. Leonard was pronounced dead at the scene.

Leonard was wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

The crash is still under investigation.
