Pedestrian struck and killed by a car at N.C. Highway 22 and N.C. Highway 42 in Chatham County, North Carolina

Around 6:45 a.m., state troopers said the pedestrian was walking on the northbound side of NC 22 when a vehicle that was also traveling northbound struck the person. The victim died at the scene, according to state troopers. State troopers said the driver who hit the person stayed at the scene and attempted to help.
