Michael Harrell Thomas, 65, and Devonda Renee Moore, 55, died in a two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 421 in Sampson County, North Carolina

According to the State Highway Patrol, Michael Harrell Thomas, age 65, of Coats was traveling south on Highway 421 in a Ford Fusion, when he crossed the centerline and collided head on with a Nissan Versa traveling northbound and operated by Devonda Renee Moore, age 55, of Dunn. Both drivers were pinned in the wreckage.

Two cars were involved in the wreck along US 421 near Plain View Highway right across from Central Baptist Church. Michael Harrell Thomas of Coats and Dovonda Reneee Moore of Dunn died in the crash.
