Pedestrian killed, Edward Earl Gilchrist Jr., 67, arrested following a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision near the intersection of Avondale Drive and East Knox Street in Durham, North Carolina

Edward Earl Gilchrist Jr., 67, of Durham, was driving a 2003 Toyota Camry south on Avondale Drive when he drove left of the center and onto the sidewalk at the southeast corner of East Knox Street and Avondale Drive, hitting an adult female pedestrian who was walking north on the sidewalk.
