Two dead after train collides with car in Morrisville
The vehicle was trying to make a right hand turn onto Morrisville Carpenter Road as the railroad crossing arms activated. The train slammed into the car, dragging it more than a half-mile down the tracks.
Two people from Southern Pines were killed Friday night when a freight train collided with a vehicle in Morrisville. The crash happened at the railroad crossing at Morrisville Carpenter Road and Chapel Hill Road. The vehicle was trying to make a right hand turn onto Morrisville Carpenter Road. The train crashed into the car, dragging it more than a half-mile down the tracks.
