An Apex man died early Tuesday morning when his pickup truck slid off the road on Interstate 440 westbound at Lake Boone Trail.

The report said Cummings was driving a 2004 Toyota pickup truck at 85 mph when he lost control in the area that has a 60 mph speed limit.
