Another woman was driving south on Creedmoor Road when she hit the woman. Troopers said the driver tried to swerve out of the way, but she was not able to avoid hitting the woman. The woman who was hit died at the scene, according to state troopers.

The woman was hit just before 4 a.m., according to State Highway Patrol. She had no identification on her.
