One killed, two injured in I-95 wreck
N.C. Highway Patrol troopers responded to a wreck with injury at 9 a.m. at exit 127 on I-95 in Nash County. They said they found the vehicle’s driver, identified as Patrick McLaughlin Jr., 25, of Pennsylvania dead at the scene. Two passengers in the vehicle, a woman believed to be McLaughlin’s pregnant fiancee and her 5-year-old son, were injured but alive.

The dog that escaped when a man was killed and others were injured in car crash on I-95 in Nash County Tuesday morning has been found and is safe.
The wreck happened before 9 a.m. Tuesday near exit 127, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Troopers say an SUV collided with a tractor trailer and the SUV overturned onto the shoulder of the highway.
The driver of the SUV, identified as 25-year-old Michael McLaughlin Jr., was killed as a result of the crash.
