Police: Three dead after I-75 crash

Dispatchers said they received a 911 call about a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on the highway less than a minute before the crash. The person who called 911 at the crash scene told police one of the vehicles involved matched the description of the car reportedly traveling the wrong direction.

"There was a crash on I-75 northbound and it looks pretty bad," the caller told police dispatchers. "There is people injured everywhere."

Evendale police said Kory Wilson, 30, was going southbound in the northbound lanes of I-75 and struck an oncoming car.

Wilson was killed, along with both people in the other car.

The three-vehicle crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-75 near Neumann Way and sent a fourth person to a nearby hospital at about 3:30 a.m. Friday.

Friends say I-75 wrong-way driver was local rapper

Branden Smith, a friend of Wilson's, said Wilson was a local rapper who had performed at places like Bogart's in Clifton.

He said Wilson had three daughters and spent long nights working at clubs.

Kirkpatrick wrote he was hanging out with Kory Wilson not long before Wilson, according to police, went the wrong way on northbound Interstate 75. A subsequent crash killed Wilson and a Fairfield couple returning home after visiting family in Kentucky.

"I just want y'all to know that was my friend that got killed last night. And I was with him and I knew he was drinking and didn't stop him," Kirkpatrick wrote. "I wasn't drinking just handing out but I know he wasn't able to drive and now he is gone. RIP@KalykoMuzik... Man I'm so hurt right now (because) I talk about drinking and driving all the time and for me to leave him at that bar like that (is) killing me.

Others warned Kirkpatrick he was opening himself up to a lawsuit by admitting he failed to stop his friend from drinking and driving. And people who identified themselves as relatives of the two people in the other car called on Kirkpatrick to show sympathy to their family, and not just to his friend.

Wilson's blood-alcohol was almost three times the state's legal limit of .08. No other drugs were found in his body, Evendale police Sgt. Doug Abrams told the Cincinnati Enquirer.
