Ohio crash kills good Samaritan helping injured pedestrian

Police in Mansfield say the 44-year-old man may have saved the life of a second good Samaritan on Monday.

Rush's friends said he died the way he lived -- helping others.

Detective Sgt. Ken Carroll said the woman who was struck earlier probably had been forced into the street by deep snow on the usual paths, and he pleaded for people to shovel their sidewalks.
It was about 8:30am when Roger Rush, 44, witnessed Latrease Whack, 44,  who was walking on ice-covered West Fourth Street, get struck by a car driven by Amber Harris. Rush and another witness, Jennifer Green, arrived to help Whack when another car, driven by Angela Edwards, struck all three of them. While Whack and Green sustained non-life threatening injuries, Rush was caught underneath the car and pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.
