Warrensville Heights Police are investigating a hit-skip crash that left a 6-year-old in critical condition at University Hospital’s Rainbow Babies.
Warrensville Heights Police are investigating a hit-skip crash that left a 6-year-old in critical condition at University Hospital’s Rainbow Babies.
According to a police report, officers were called out 4657 Walford Avenue around 7:05 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 after a child was struck by a car.
Officers arrived on scene and along with the Warrensville Heights Fire Department and located Caylen Holloway, 6, along with his parents.
The parents reported to police and fire that their son was outside playing with friends and his sister near their apartment when Caylen came running back into the home from outside, bleeding from the head.
Caylen told his parents he had been hit by a car. Officers toured the area and located a pair of child-sized shoes in the driveway area near 4657 Walford surrounded by blood droplets. There was also a child’s big wheel near the shoes.
Caylen’s sister, Carmella Holloway, age unknown, only remembered that the car was blue.
There were no other witnesses at the scene.
Residents of the Clarkwood Greens Apartment complex were advised of the hit-skip and to contact Warrensville Heights Police with any information.
