A Clintonville woman was killed yesterday in a one-vehicle crash just before 11:30 a.m. on Rt. 62 near the Licking County line, the Franklin County sheriff’s office said.
A Clintonville woman was killed yesterday in a one-vehicle crash just before 11:30 a.m. on Rt. 62 near the Licking County line, the Franklin County sheriff’s office said. Amy Kempton, 29, of Tibet Road in Columbus, was traveling south in a 1999 Toyota Corolla when she lost control of the vehicle just north of Walnut Street in Plain Township. The car went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Emergency personnel pronounced Kempton dead at the scene. Neither drugs nor alcohol is thought to be a factor in the crash, which is under investigation, the sheriff’s office said. Kempton was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and no other vehicles were involved, according to witnesses.
