1 Killed When Car Slams Into Semi Trailer

One person was killed and another was injured when a car struck the back of a tractor trailer early Saturday morning.
One person is dead and one more injured after a car rear-ended a semi truck early Saturday Morning in Fayette County, Ohio. The accident occurred at 2:39 AM on State Route 41 N in Jefferson Township. Jason Wooley, a 37-year-old resident of Washington Courthouse, was driving south on SR 41 in his SUV when he struck a tractor-trailer that was exiting a parking lot at a truck stop. Wooley struck the trailer on the rear driver's side while it was spanning both lanes of the road. He and his passenger, William Rankin, 26, were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated. After he was able to be removed from the vehicle, Wooley was sent to Miami Valley Medical Center. Rankin was transported to Adene Medical Center in Jamestown where he was later declared deceased. The driver of the semi, Jesse Allen Jr, a 49-year-old resident of Hermitage, Tennessee, was uninjured. The accident is still under investigation, and we will add more details as they are released.
