S.R. 104 Reopens In Southern Franklin Co. Following Fatal Crash.

Franklin County sheriff's deputies have reopened State Route 104 between Hiner Road and the Franklin County/Pickaway County line following a fatal crash Wednesday morning.

Franklin County sheriff's deputies have reopened State Route 104 between Hiner Road and the Franklin County/Pickaway County line following a fatal crash Wednesday morning.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the area of S.R. 104 at Hiner Road on a report of a crash between an SUV and a semi truck at about 7:50 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators said it appeared that a Ford Explorer was traveling northbound and went left of center, causing a head-on collision with the semi.

Deputies say William F. Burgess, 45, of Columbus was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol is a factor.

The roadway reopened shortly after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the sheriff's office.

This crash remains under investigation.
