Two People Killed In Crash Near New Albany

Franklin County Sheriff's deputies said it happened just before 10:00 P.M. on U.S. 62 near Walnut Street, just north of New Albany. A Buick Rendezvous was traveling north when it crossed into the southbound lane and was hit by an oncoming Dodge Caliber. His passenger, 18-year-old Haley Meadows, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Buick, 20-year-old Gregory Long, was rushed to Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Heather Thomas, 33, was inside the Dodge Caliber.
