A 16-year-old was struck by a vehicle as he was crossing the street at the intersection of East Franklin Street and South Johanna Drive this afternoon. Initial reports from emergency dispatch traffic indicated the child may have been exiting a school bus, however police said a school bus was not involved in the incident. Initial emergency dispatch traffic indicated a student may have been struck while exiting a school bus, but that report has not been confirmed by officials. Officers are responding to the area of East Franklin Street and South Johanna Drive on a report of a pedestrian involved in an accident, police said. The teen suffered life-threatening injuries, according to Centerville police.

The 16-year-old Barnthouse received several blunt force traumas including a head injury that has him sedated on a ventilator, WDTN-TV in Dayton reported. Centerville Police Officer John Davis told WHIO-TV in Dayton Barnthouse's family has asked for no visitors at the hospital so the medical teams can perform the work needed.
