Teen wasn’t wearing helmet, dies from go-cart crash
The family disposed of the go-carts after the accident. His younger brother refused to ride the go-cart after Allsup’s death, according to the family.
Allsup was driving his go-cart around on the roads, as he frequently did, when he drove into the path of an oncoming vehicle on Beach Drive and collided with it, sustaining serious head-injuries and finally being pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigators say that if Allsup had been wearing a helmet during the crash, it may have saved his life. The driver of the car was not speeding and will likely not be cited in this accident.
