Shelby Fear, 19, killed and Tristan Hoffmaster, 18, injured in single-vehicle car accident on Plattner Pike in New Knoxville, Ohio

A teen driver died in a single-vehicle accident Saturday night on on Plattner Pike in southwest of New Knoxville. Shelby Fear, 19, of New Bremen, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His passenger, 18-year-old Tristan Hoffmaster, also of New Bremen, suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Joint Township Hospital in Saint Marys. Fear was not wearing a seat belt while driving a 2008 Dodge Stratus. The vehicle went off the right side of the road, crashed into several trees, and landed upside down.
