One person died after a tractor-trailer crashed and caught fire about 10:40 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 40 in Sequoyah County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The person, whose name has not been released, was driving a tractor-trailer about 10:40 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 40 about four miles east of Sallisaw.

The truck went off the road and hit a concrete culvert, causing the vehicle to catch fire, troopers said.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
