Theresa Sanchez, 32, of Edmond, was driving east on Charter Oak Road when her car struck Deborah Davis’ southbound pickup. Davis’ pickup rolled and struck Newsom’s car. The Sanchez and Davis vehicles both ran off the road, and Newsom’s car remained in the roadway.

Though John Paul Newsom was wearing a seatbelt, he died at the scene. His passenger, Jana Kay Newsom was injured and taken by ambulance to Oklahoma City Hospital. All others, including two 9-year-old children, were either completely uninjured or declined medical attention.
