Tulsa Police Investigating Woman Killed In Crash As Homicide

Police were able to link the crash to the shots fired at Heller Park where they learned Girod was run over after an altercation, Walker said.
The incident began shortly after 12:00 a.m. when Girod was run over by a car at Heller Park which then left the scene. She was then being rushed to the hospital by some friends, but the driver of that car ran a red light at 61st and Lewis at about 12:16 a.m. and was struck by another vehicle. Girod was found dead at the scene of that crash, though it is still not certain whether she died from injuries sustained in the first or second incident. We will add more details to this crash as more information becomes available.
