Man killed, woman critically injured in Wash. Co. motorcycle crash
At the scene they found that the motorcycle had left the roadway and crashed into a bridge railing, ejecting both people, said Washington County Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. Bob Ray.
The driver, 28-year-old Mark Sellars of Beaverton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies found his passenger, a 29-year-old female, over an embankment and about 40 feet down a ravine. She was flown to a nearby hospital, where she was last reported in critical condition.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
