Jordan A. Dunaway, 21, killed and Makinski L. Gregory, 20, injured in semi truck craqsh on May 17 on U.S. 97.

A Prineville man was killed and his female passenger was injured when their pickup crashed into a semi-truck north of Madras on Saturday.

The crash was reported about noon along U.S. 97 near milepost 76 when a southbound pickup crossed into opposing traffic and hit the side of a northbound truck with a semi-trailer, according to Oregon State Police. The pickup driver, 21-year-old Jordan A. Dunaway, was died at the scene.

Makinsi L. Gregory, 20, of Prineville, was taken to St. Charles Madras Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The semi-truck driver, Manuel Nunez, 53, of California, was not injured.

The crash is still under police investigation.
