Paul David Suryan, 34, killed, after his car drifts into the oncoming traffic lane of Northwest Zion Church Road near North Plains, and crashes into a tractor-trailer.

A man died in a traffic accident Tuesday after his car slid into an oncoming semi truck near North Plains.

Paul David Suryan, 34, of Forest Grove was killed at approximately 11:00 a.m. Tuesday after his Toyota Camry crossed the traffic lane along Northwest Zion Church Road and was struck by an oncoming semi, according to Washington County sheriff's deputies.

Deputies believe Suryan was going more than 55 mph when he failed to negotiate a curve and was struck by the westbound truck. Excessive speed was probably the cause of the crash, said the sheriff's office.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
