Nathan J. Jackson, 36, from Vernonia, was killed at the site of a car crash into a tree off Oregon 47, north of Vernonia. He was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Jackson was heading southbound when his 2008 Subaru Outback crossed into the northbound lane and hit the tree. It is not yet known what caused the crash.
