Both vehicles lost control and the construction van, carrying the driver and three passengers, flipped several times and came to a halt on the shoulder along Route 30.
Two people are dead following a major crash at the Hellam Exit of Route 30 in York County.
The crash happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday. It involved multiple vehicles on the westbound ramp of Route 30 at Frysville Road.
Authorities tell News 8 that for an unknown reason, a construction van veered into the right westbound lane and rear-ended a pickup truck.
Both vehicles lost control and the construction van, carrying the driver and three passengers, flipped several times and came to a halt on the shoulder along Route 30.
Passengers Jerry Eady, 36, and Jack Mason III, 52, both of West Manchester Township, were ejected and died at the scene. It appears they were not wearing seat belts.
The driver of the van, a 29-year-old from Red Lion, and another passenger, a 42-year-old from Hanover, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
