Woman Killed in Fiery Crash on Roosevelt Boulevard

“We tried to break the windows, tried to do what we could to get someone, anyone out,” said Joey Herrschaft, one of the witnesses. “Within, it seemed like seconds, it just erupted in flames and there wasn’t really anything else we could do.”
Just after 2:00am, a woman driving on Roosevelt Boulevard lost control and hit a tree in the median, which caused her car to combust. Bystanders attempted to rescue the woman, but could not because of the flames, and she was pronounced dead at the scene when medics arrived. We will update this accident as more information is released.
