Man killed in crash on Pennsylvania Turnpike

A man died this morning when two commercial motor vehicles collided in Indiana Township, state police in Gibsonia said. It happened just after 10:30 a.m. on the Pennsylvania Turnpike at milemarker 42.4. Police said Richard Wiegard Sr., 69, of York, was driving eastbound when his truck struck a man, 73, of Lisbon, Ohio, who had stopped on the south berm to check his tires. The man was killed in the collision.

A 69-year-old driver from York, drove his box truck onto the south berm of the road and hit the 73-year-old Glen Helman, of Lisbon, Ohio. Wiegard was not injured.
